Feedback on Playmats
The Playscope Playmat “is a perfect multi-purpose addition to any early years setting because it makes finding the space, time and inspiration to play anywhere really effortless.”
Headteacher judge on the Nursery World Awards
“We had such fun with it [the Playscope Playmat]. I got so wrapped up playing with it. We had a whale of a time. I think for small groups of children to use as a parachute instead of always having to have a large group it [the Playmat] is fantastic. I also think the contrast in light and dark is excellent as with an ordinary parachute it is still very light underneath but with the backing it is much darker. I just think it is good fun” -

“The children sat in a circle on the Playmat. We talked about our favourite colours ...we then sang the rainbow song. The children enjoyed singing songs on the mat such as ‘wind the bobbin up. We changed the words in the song to incorporate the mat. The children stood in a circle around the mat. We played circle games such as ‘ring o roses’ and ‘the farmers in his den’. The children really enjoyed doing all the activities involving the Playmat.”

“Eleven children aged 3 to 4 years old were sitting on the Playmat. The children were all listening to a story. There was lots of concentration. The children started playing with the Playmat. One child was pulling all the strands through and feeling the material. One child was rubbing their feet on it. One child was putting the blanket over their feet and feeling the ribbon strands. By the end of the story all the children were playing with the ribbons but had full attention on the story being told. All the children were looking up at the book whilst still playing with the ribbons.” –
